Manitoba Association of Insurance Professionals (MAIP) is a non-profit Association, whose members are either employed in the Insurance Industry or are associated with the Insurance Industry. And our purpose is to participate and contribute to the enhancement of:

​

EDUCATION: improving our knowledge of the insurance industry and keeping pace with the changes in the industry through educational programs.

​

FELLOWSHIP: emphasizing the need and benefits of networking within the insurance industry. By fostering friendships and partnerships mutually beneficial to all.

LOYALTY: instilling high ethical standards in business relations and loyalty towards one another.

Manitoba Association of Insurance Professionals (MAIP) was one of the founding associations of our national association - Canadian Association of Insurance Women (CAIW) in 1966. The purpose in forming a Canadian Association was and still is:

  • To encourage and foster education programs for its members;

  • To foster and cultivate good fellowship and loyalty among its members;

  • To make its members more responsive to the requirements of the Canadian Insurance Industry as a whole.

sherry Sanders CIP

The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company

Sherry has been in the P&C industry for approximately 20 years. She started her career on the broker side, handling Autopac and home insurance but quickly fell in love with commercial.  Her current role is as a commercial underwriting technical specialist at an Wawanesa Insurance. She completed her C.A.I.B designation in 2007 and her C.I.P in 2023.

 

Sherry joined M.A.I.P 20 years ago and has been the President of the organization for the last 3yrs.

 

In her free time, she spends many hours at the archery range cheering on her daughter who has qualified for team Canada for the past 3 years.  She loves music, attending concerts and hanging with friends and family.

Nadine has been in the P&C industry for over 20 years. Her career has included many different roles within the industry. She completed her C.A.I.B designation in 2007 and is working towards her C.I.P

​

Nadine is an active member of M.A.I.P and has been 1st Vice President of the organization for the last 3yrs. Along with serving on the Board of Directors for her condo corporation.

​

Some of her favorite things outside the office is pool time with her friends and family. Attending festivals, cheering on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and hanging out on the golf course.

Nancy Dixon

​

Manitoba Public Insurance (Ret.)

​

Nancy retired in 2019 from MPI as a Legislative Coordinator after spending 40 years in the Automobile and P&C industry. This role involved legislative reviews and providing coverage interpretations to the customers, brokers, and adjusters. Previously, she was a Claims Adjuster managing personal lines claims in both auto and homeowner fields. She has a CIP and a Management Certificate.

​

Nancy is an active member of the Manitoba of Insurance Professionals (M.A.I.P) and has been past President of the organization for the last 3yrs. She is also the Director for the Canadian Association of Insurance Women.

Some of her favorite things outside the office is spending time with her granddaughter along with her family and friends. Traveling and playing golf are also on the favorite list.

Sabrina Wang

Manager, Insurance Institute of Manitoba

​

Sabrina has been in the P&C industry for almost a decade and has experience in underwriting and brokering.

 

Sabrina joined the Manitoba of Insurance Professionals (M.A.I.P) in June 2022 and has since been the 2nd Vice President of the organization.

 

As an adventurous individual, Sabrina enjoys travelling and trying different kinds of food.

Elenor Nowosad
Manager, Insurance Business Development

Elenor has worked in the insurance industry for more than 40 years.  Over the years, Elenor has worked on both the brokerage and company side. Her career has provided the opportunity in Brokerage management, personal lines, commercial and auto. Elenor is passionate about insurance and strives to share her knowledge with others and has completed her G.I.E., C.A.I.B. (Hons) and her C.I.P.

 

Elenor is an active member of the Manitoba Association of Insurance Professionals (M.A.I.P.) and has held many executive positions over the years.  Currently Elenor is the Secretary of the Association. Elenor also sits on the General Board of the Insurance Council of Manitoba and volunteers at many community functions.

 

When not at work you will find Elenor spending time with family at Steep Rock and lost in a good book. Other interests include cooking, cross stitch and cuddling with the family pup.

Taylor Rice
Underwriter

Taylor has been in the insurance industry for over 8 years. Her career has included different roles within the industry including accounting and underwriting. She stumbled into the world of insurance through her background in financing and became passionate about building a career within it. She is working towards completing her C.I.P.

​

Taylor is an active member of the Manitoba of Insurance Professionals (M.A.I.P) and has been treasurer of the organization for the last 3 years.

​

Some of her favorite things outside the office include spending time with her family and friends, spending time in the great outdoors, crafting, reading and is an unabashed movie lover.
